As part of the 5 years strategic plan of the Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG), the RLFG in collaboration with Radical will have an online lecture on the theme “Social media as a tool to promote rugby league in Ghana”.
The event slated to take place on zoom on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 6pm is expected to engage all rugby league stakeholders both in Ghana and the World over.
Speaking to Radical’s Founder and Director, Mr. Humphrey Odjenmma Botchway on the lecture, he said, “there are opportunities in uncharted territories and Radical believes that rugby league in Ghana can change more lives and create more opportunities if social media is used to break the stereotype, push the limits and break boundaries”.
Radical realized that social media is a tool that if properly utilized can promote the RLGF, and create more opportunities and support. Making the League more lucrative and attractive, and in the long run a popular sport in the country and Continent.
Unfortunately, this is not the case, and therefore the full potential not being realized. We hope that through the conference, players, management and all invovled will take advantage of this opportunity. If the League wants to make a difference, it counts on each and everyone involved playing their part.
In an interview with Jafaru Awudu Mustapha (Manager, RLFG) on why such an event this is what he had to say,
“In these times where there is a ban on social gathering and sporting activities it has become prudent to turn to other means of work and doing things. We need to do some off field stuff and that includes meeting with stakeholders in the rugby fraternity to discuss the way forward as well as life after COVID -19”.
“It is on the backdrop of this that is why we are organizing this lecture to equip both players and teams to ensure that rugby league makes use of the opportunities social media has to offer”.
The RLFG strategy looks at frequently engaging stakeholders as well as running course to improve the knowledge and management of the game.
Radical is an organization focused on empowering people to think and do outside the box. It believes in change and the betterment of lives, and that starts from the way individuals think and how to identify problems and provide solutions.
